Hayley obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Kentucky Wesleyan College and her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. While at WashU she completed her doctoral research (under the mentorship of Dr. Bobbi Pineda) studying the benefits of breastmilk for premature infants and her research is now published in the Journal of Perinatal and Neonatal Nursing. In addition to her research, she created a model of OT for maternal and infant healthcare to help bridge the gap between the medicalized method of prenatal/postpartum care and more holistic, full body practices. In 2015, she worked in Nairobi, Kenya creating NICU programs/policies for a new children's hospital and in 2013, '14, '18, and '22 she worked in various cities/villages in Guatemala providing OT services and learning about traditional Mayan maternal health practices. Hayley is deeply invested in integrating her international experiences with her everyday practice to bring a global perspective to caring for a diverse population. She created Wild OT in Fredericksburg, VA to enhance the care women and infants receive, educate and provide trusted resources to the community, and empower women to be active participants in the care they desperately deserve. Services provided through Wild include 1:1 in person appointments, virtual appointments (coming Summer 2023), mom + baby classes, prenatal + postpartum pelvic floor therapy, breastfeeding support, and neurodevelopmental OT for infants birth to 3 years of age.
